TAYA (Theatre Arts Youth Academy) is the Oswego Players youth program. TAYA is a workshop based program that welcome ages eight to eighteen. TAYA holds two semesters of workshops a year, a spring and fall semester. These workshops teach the students a variety of topics such as: acting, directing, playwriting, Stage Design, lights, sounds, choreography, make up and costuming. The workshops are taught by guest instructors including professional theater technicians, local public-school educators, designers, local actors and actress and SUNY Oswego Theater Department professors. In 2019, students performed in two TAYA stage productions, Snow White and the Queen of Mean and Fairy Tale Courtroom, as well as joining the cast of the Oswego Players production of Anne Get Your Gun. While unable to meet in person during 2020, we have maintained contact and continued interaction with our students. Our TAYA students embarked on the Oswego Players first ever online streaming production Do You Read Me? In 2021, the Theatre Arts Youth Academy returned to the Francis Marion Brown Theatre with Bad Auditions by Bad Actors.
