What would a stage play be like without the sparkle of the lights, the impact of sound effects and music, and a spectacular set? Well in this case, all these enhancements will be magically present when the curtain opens in two weeks for the Oswego Players’ season opener.
The play takes place in Savannah Georgia over a period of six months or so as four uniquely personal southern women forge a comradery to last a lifetime. And in the process, the audience gets to watch as they come together on the veranda to discuss life, love, and friendship. All of this is sure to bring many a smile and tons of laughter to everyone who attends.
Place all of this on the Frances Marion Stage in a beautiful set constructed by Bob and Skeeter Collins along with lighting and sound by Matthew Georgiades, and POW, you have the makings of one dynamic production.
Bob and Skeeter Collins have been members of the Oswego Players for the past few years and have lent their talent and time in creating some fantastic sets. For the past six weeks, they have worked day and night creating an outstanding set for Sipping Society. This time around, we think they have outdone themselves and we hope you think so to when you join us during the comedies run.
And when the lights go up and the music plays, it’s Matt’s talent and creative instinct you can thank for creating the ambiance for each scene in this two-act comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicolas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. Matt is a recent graduate from the Theater Department at SUCO Oswego. He has lent his talent and time over the past three years on several OP productions and has become a member of the organization.
