It’s Valentine’s Day and the four ladies of “The Savannah Sipping Society” decide they are going to the big Valentine’s Day Dance in town. Jinx and Dot, two of the ladies, have a private little conversation as they get gussied up for the big night…

Jinx: “Come on, Dot let me paint your fingernails! Since this is your first date in forty years you are going to look like the wanton woman you were born to be.”

Dot: “I love this makeover you gave me…what I can see of it. Randa made some tea. It’s a big night, let’s start out with a caffeine high.”

Jinx: “Give me those paws, Dot. I’m lacquering you up with Passion’s Promise.”

Dot: “Oh Happy Valentine’s Day to me!”

As the night unfolds, the evening event turns into a hilarious round of new adventures and lots of hearty laughs for those who will be sitting in their seats as the Oswego Player’s open their 84 Season of community theater.

When Gina Mazzoli Wentworth first auditioned, there was no doubt she would bring the character of Jinx Jenkins to life on the stage.  She is best recognized for her portrayal of “Annie Oakley” in the 2019 OP’S production of “Annie Get Your Gun” in which she was nominated for a SALT award for best leading actress in a musical. Her most recent theatre credit is for directing the original production Candy for the Oswego Players Open House event.  Gina was last seen on the OP stage as Suzanne Turpin in “Dearly Departed.

Beth DeRousie is cast in the role of Dot in the current production and brings a wealth of theater experience to the forefront.  Beth is delighted to be back on stage with Oswego Players! She has performed in several musicals and plays with the Oswego Players, Baldwinsville Theatre Group, The Red House, and CNY Arts Center. A few of her show credits include: Nutcrackers! (Reverend Mother); Once Upon a Mattress (Lady Larkin); Bye Bye Birdie; Oklahoma; Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat; Grease (Miss Lynch); Little Women (Aunt March), and What the Rabbi Saw (Lanie Berman) for which she received a TANYS Award.

The comedy runs again April 8, 9, 10. Tickets are available by calling the Oswego Players’ box office at 315-343-5138 or by logging onto: oswegoplayers.org
