A thunderstorm! The lights go out! An agonized voice! A pistol shot! The lights come up! A blonde in black lace stands over the dead man holding a bloody dagger! The detective examines the body and announces, “He’s been strangled!” This is but the opening of one of the most astounding and hilarious murder mysteries ever staged. Every clue is a lulu and the plot twists furiously. The final solution involves the most bizarre motive ever conceived.

The Oswego Players have begun rehearsals for their upcoming September production of “While the Lights Were Out” by Jack Sharkey.

Jack Sharkey was an American playwright who’s wrote over 83 plays. A majority of his work were over the top farces and spoofs with mild satirical content. He has published plays written under his own name and four others – Rick Abbot, Monk Ferris, Mark Chandler and Mike Johnson. The Players production of “While the Lights Were Out” will run weekends September 6th -15th at the Frances Marion Brown Theater at Fort Ontario in Oswego, NY.

Director Sherri Metz has assembled an all-star cast of hilarious Central New York performers. The cast features the talents of Tammy Thompson as Lady Monica Wickenham, Scott Bandla as Lord Clive Wickenham, Desiree Martin as Bibi Cavendish, Kevin Colvin as Pierre Pourri, Jennifer Waugh as Jasmine Perdoo, Angella Bandla as Mimosa, Rebecca Kandt as Nancy Stafford, Matt Fleming as Roderick Remley, Beverly Murtha as Fredonia Custardine, Megan Murtha as Chloe Custardine, Richard Carpenter as Algernon Wickenham, Eric Cronk as Benjamin Braddock, Karla Chandler-McCord as Alma Threedle and Hannah Kandt as Unidentified Blonde.

Tickets for “While the Lights Were Out” are now available for purchase.
