Oswego Players have found remarkable success going outside of the box and taking a risk on artistic pieces of theatre. “Foretold Tales: An Anthology of Terror” was the most unique offering of the 2025 season.
The Players fifth production of their 87th season, “Foretold Tales: An Anthology of Terror” has been recognized with ten roving adjudication awards by TANYS – Theatre Association of NYS.
These awards are based on three separate designations: Meritorious Achievement, Excellence and Outstanding Achievement. Meritorious Achievement: Demonstrates evidence of advanced theatrical ability. Excellence: Demonstrates theatrical skill base not routinely noted in non-professional theatre. Outstanding Achievement: Demonstrates theatrical skill base rarely seen in non-professional theatre.
“Foretold Tales” presented nine classic stories over its three-day run, creating a truly anthology and repertory event. Director William Edward White compared the production to sitting down and turning on old-time radio.The anthology series was broken into nightly themes or “episodes”: Mad Scientists, Future Tense, and Nine Lives.
The production received several accolades from adjudicators of the Theater Association of NYS (TANYS).

- Excellence in Technical Design and Execution to Angella Bandla, Adele Cronk, Sonia Lough-Berlin, Norman Berlin III, Kenneth Snow and William Edward White
- Excellence in Ensemble Performance to the Cast
- Excellence in Acting to Inez Manor Parker, Tristan Mann, Karla McCord, Eve Phillips and Adele Cronk
- Outstanding Achievement in Acting to Jordan Glaskifor the portrayal of Chancellor
Paul Nelson, vice president of Adjudication Services for TANYS announced that the awards will be presented at the Annual TANYS Festival next November of 2026.
Formed in 1987, when the New York State Theatre Festival Association (NYSTFA) merged with the New York State Community Theatre Association (NYSCTA), the mission of TANYS is to foster the contribution of theatre to the lives of the citizens of New York State, promote high standards of theatre practice through education and example, and encourage exchanges of information and knowledge through people-to-people and theatre-to-theatre interactions.
“We are thrilled that the fall production was honored with these prestigious awards from TANYS,” said Oswego Players President Tammy Thompson. “It is extremely rewarding to know that the passion and dedication that goes into our productions is appreciated.”
“We are simply thrilled by the recognition from TANYS. But more importantly by the way our audiences embraced this production,” White said.
“Foretold Tales” holds the distinction of the best audience turnout of the season so far. In addition to its three-night run, the special preview benefit performance brought in much-needed revenue to secure funding for the next two years for The Players’ scholarships.
The Theater Association of New York State recognized the Oswego Players’ production of “Foretold Tales: An Anthology of Terror” with ten awards.
